Overview

AdScanner ("we", "our", or "us") operates the AdScanner ad intelligence platform at adscanner.in. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our service, how we use it, and what choices you have.

We take your privacy seriously. Our service is an analysis tool — we do not sell, rent, or monetize your data to third parties.

Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the analysis service:

• Submitted URLs: When you paste a Meta Ad Library URL into AdScanner, we process that URL to fetch and analyze the ad.
• Submitted ad copy: When you paste raw ad text into the Ad Copy tab, we process that text through our AI analysis pipeline.
• Analysis results: The output of each scan (verdict, risk score, signals, violations) is stored locally in your browser's localStorage so you can access your analysis history. We may also retain analysis results on our servers for a limited period for debugging and service improvement purposes.
• Usage data: We collect basic server logs including IP addresses, request timestamps, and response codes for security monitoring and service reliability. We do not use this data to build user profiles.

How We Use Your Information

• To perform the ad analysis you requested and return results to you.
• To improve the accuracy and coverage of our detection models.
• To monitor for abuse of our infrastructure (e.g., automated scraping at excessive rates).
• To respond to your communications when you contact us.

We do not use your submitted URLs or ad copy for targeted advertising. We do not sell your data.

Data Retention

Analysis results are stored entirely in your browser's localStorage and remain there only within your browser session and device. They are never uploaded to our servers in a form linked to your identity. You can clear them at any time using the "Clear history" button in the app, or by clearing your browser's localStorage.

We do not build or maintain persistent user profiles or databases of submitted ad URLs. Server access logs (IP address, timestamp, response code) are retained for a short period for security monitoring only and are not used to reconstruct your analysis history.

Third-Party Services

AdScanner uses the following third-party AI services to perform analysis. When you submit an ad for analysis, relevant data (such as ad copy, landing page content, or ad images) may be sent to these providers:

• Perplexity AI — for policy analysis, claim verification, and risk scoring. Governed by Perplexity's Privacy Policy.
• OpenAI — for visual creative analysis via GPT-4 Vision. Governed by OpenAI's Privacy Policy.

We do not share your personal information (name, email, IP address) with these providers. Only the content submitted for analysis is passed through.

Cookies and Local Storage

AdScanner does not use cookies for tracking or advertising. We use your browser's localStorage API solely to persist your analysis history within your own browser session. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly share an analysis link.

Data Security

All communication with AdScanner is encrypted in transit using TLS (HTTPS). We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data from unauthorized access. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Clear your local analysis history at any time using the "Clear history" button in the app.
• Request deletion of any server-side data associated with your usage by contacting us at the address below.
• Opt out of service improvement uses of anonymized analysis data by contacting us.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of AdScanner after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
